MEPs Vote Against Overfishing Abroad But Not At Home

MEPs Condemn Overfishing

The European Parliament voted to impose sanctions against countries who overfished.

The only thing that they’ll only penalize overfishing by third countries. More specifically, Iceland and the Faroe Islands.

One Rule for Them, and One Rule for Us

Of course, the idea that they would penalized the EU’s own member states very fishing would be too much. In fact, many of the MEPs voted to condemn what they see as the overfishing by Icelandic, had just a few weeks earlier voted to support the continued and inextricably economically ruinous practice of overfishing Europe’s own fish.

Of course the idea of eating having your own cake and eating it is something that politicians, and are particularly European politicians, have got used to. The economic bankruptcy of so many European countries is a testament or symptom of that.
