Numbers Don’t Lie
Yesterday, a colleague crunched a big pile of numbers for me.
The numbers were the subsidies that have been paid to Europe’s Distant Water Fishing Fleet under Fishing partnership Agreements.
The EU has been spending a small fortune building and upgrading a fleet to go around the world and fish.
And, to make sure it is easier for the fleet to fish, the EU goes and negotiates with countries, often former European colonies, to get access to their fish. Better even for fishermen, whose boats taxpayers have paid a lot for, the EU then goes and pay even more money for fishing access agreements.

I think the numbers below are self explanatory. They are startlingly. The figures are in Euros.
